Research Division
The Spine Institute of Louisiana has regularly been involved in testing and trials of various new and innovative products and instruments that have revolutionized the world of spine surgery. Being the only comprehensive institute in the region dedicated exclusively to diseases of the spine, we have frequently been selected as the only center in northwest Louisiana to participate in different clinical trials initiated by individual manufacturers as well as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This continuing research experience resulted in the formation of the Spine Institute of Louisiana Foundation which is the non-profit arm of the Institute completely dedicated to the various fields of research in spinal diseases.
In 2005 the Foundation began its initial phase of consolidation of resources and recruitment of investigators. This led to the addition of a fully functional research division within the facility. The Spine Institute of Louisiana Foundation works to bring together academic and governmental agencies and private and public partnerships. The establishment of this foundation provides an avenue by which innovative and leading edge research can be performed with the potential to identify and determine improved outcomes and solutions to various spine diseases through fundamental and translational research.
The Spine Institute of Louisiana has won many prestigious awards and has received national and international recognition for the research that is done in its Research Foundation.
