Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Hey The Spine Institute of Louisiana is seeking a mid-level provider – either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to add to its team of clinical professionals.

The mid-level providers at the Spine Institute of Louisiana work side by side with the physicians in both the clinic and surgery settings.  Responsibilities include:

•  First assist (neurosurgery & spine cases)
• Hospital rounds
•  Initial evaluations
•  Injections
•  Pre-op and Post-op H&P’s
•  Prescriptions
•  Coordinate with PCPs, Physical Therapists, Home Health, etc.
•  Ordering tests and evaluating X-Ray, CT scan and MRI
•  Seeing Patients in Clinic and Ultimately Running a Clinic Independent of Physician

The position averages 45 hours per week with minimal weekends and evenings. Call is 1/9.  Successful candidate should be AANP or NCCPA-certified/eligible.  New graduates are welcome to apply.  NPs/CFNPs without prior surgery experience must have completed the RNFA credential or be willing to successfully complete within the first 6 months of employment.

The location is in Shreveport, Louisiana, a southern city with magnet programs in the public schools as well as 3 magnet elementary schools, a magnet middle school and high school, several universities local or nearby (LSU-S, Centenary College, Louisiana Tech, Grambling, and ULN), a metro airport, affordable housing, wide variety of outdoor activities, culture and cuisine, and a very reasonable cost of living.

Compensation:  Very competitive.  Additionally, there is an excellent full benefits package provided which includes a 401K plan, medical, dental & vision insurance and a profit-sharing plan.  A relocation package is offered.

Part-Time MRI Scheduler

The Spine Institute of Louisiana is looking for an experienced special procedures/imaging scheduler to join our team of professionals.

The successful applicant will be detail-oriented, organized, have strong computer skills, the ability to multi-task, excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, professionalism, and the diplomacy necessary to interact with patients, the public, and other healthcare professionals. Experience with NextGen software desired.

Duties may include:

-Answering telephone

-Greeting; checking patients in/out

-Scheduling

-Scanning documents

-Verifying insurance

-Networking with hospitals and other physicians’ offices

Hours for this position are Monday through Friday 3 pm 7:00 pm.

Availability as backup for Saturday coverage occasionally too may be needed 7 am 3:30 pm.

College degree or degree in progress desired. Excellent benefits and a great work environment.

Patient Care Coordinator/Operator/Scheduler/Floater
The Spine Institute of Louisiana is looking for a self-disciplined, dependable, detail-oriented, team- player to join our busy Spine practice.

The successful applicant should have the following attributes:

-Organized

-Strong computer skills – able to talk and type simultaneously

-Adaptable / flexible – enjoys doing work that may require shifts in direction

-Autonomous / independent – enjoys working with minimal oversight

-Ability to multi-task

-Strong, solid work ethic

-Great communication and people skills

-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

-Experience with Next Gen Software desired

This position will float within the clinic at both the Front and Back Desk and Operator/Scheduler positions; Monday-Friday – 8 hour shift.

Applicant must have 2+ years of physician office experience. College degree preferred.

– Checking in/out patients

– Scanning/faxing documents

– Making appointments

– Verifying insurance

– Scheduling procedures
