Cervical Radiculopathy

What is Cervical Radiculopathy?

Cervical Radiculopathy is a term used to describe the pain that originates in the neck but radiates into the shoulders, arms or fingers. This condition occurs when there is compression of a nerve in the cervical spine. When the nerve is compressed pain signals travel from the nerve root in the spine into the extremities. Common conditions that cause Cervical Radiculopathy include herniated discs, Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disc Disease, spinal arthritis and/or spinal bone spurs.

If you have Cervical Radiculopathy the common symptoms can include:

  • Neck pain
  • Pain in the shoulders, arms or fingers
  • Weakness in the shoulders, arms or fingers
  • Numbness or tingling in the shoulders, arms or fingers
